University of the Incarnate Word presents Mozart Festival Texas 2018

SAN ANTONIO — The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Department of Music is presenting the Mozart Festival Texas 2018, a one-of-a-kind celebration of orchestral, operatic and chamber music repertoire by select masters. Concerts take place July 28-29 and Aug. 4-5 at the UIW Concert Hall.

This year’s music festival brings together an ensemble of world-class musicians. These include pianist Beatrice Long, whose performances have received international acclaim for more than two decades; violinist Emmanuelle Boisvert, associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony; Stephen Girko, principal clarinetist of the Austin Symphony; soprano Angela Malek; bass-baritone Phillip Hill; pianist Rick Rowley and The Artisan Quartet, a string ensemble.

“We are thrilled to once again bring to San Antonio musical selections by Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn that are not often performed in the city,” says Terrence Frazor, festival founder and conductor, and member of the UIW music faculty. “Mozart Festival Texas is by and large one of the few opportunities to hear these works performed by exceptional, professional musicians from Texas and around the world.”
