Statement of Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, MSpS, concerning Pittsburgh synagogue shooting
On behalf of the faithful of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, I offer my deepest condolences and prayers to the families of the 11 people killed in the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh earlier today. Our thoughts are also with the other victims; including the four first responders who were wounded in this senseless act of hatred. I am reaching out to the leaders of the Jewish community in San Antonio to assure them of our unity and solidarity in these troubling times. Let this be a clarion call; that the divisiveness in our country must come to an end.
