In response to the shooting on military personnel in Tennessee, Archbishop Gustvo García-Siller, MSpS, of the Archdiocese of San Antonio issued following statement:
I express my deepest sadness and continue to pray for the repose of the souls of the five military personnel who were killed during the shootings that took place last week in Chattanooga. Let us also pray that the Father’s healing touch will embrace their families, the law enforcement officer who was injured, and all those affected by this heartrending tragedy. The Archdiocese of San Antonio is holding Bishop Richard F. Stika of the Diocese of Knoxville and the people of that region of Tennessee in prayer.
Please also remember with a profound sense of gratitude all those who serve in our United States military, especially those stationed here, for the many sacrifices they make in the line of duty.
Finally, let us also continue to pray for an end to terrorism and senseless violence in our world.

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, M.Sp.S.
