I, along with Auxiliary Bishop Michael Boulette, offer on behalf of the Archdiocese of San Antonio our prayers to Bishop Joe Vásquez and the people of the Diocese of Austin following the devastating fire at the historic Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Over a decade ago a tragic fire took place here in San Antonio which almost destroyed the Main Building at Our Lady of the Lake University. As we saw after that conflagration, we experienced an outpouring of love from the community and had persons step forward to assist whom we do not even know at that time. We accompany these people in their sorrow and pain and also pledge our support to that town, and we know that the Holy Spirit will work in powerful and mysterious ways through the faithful in Westphalia in the days and weeks ahead.
