The Catholic Committee on Scouting Retreat took place Oct. 14 at the Lowry Mays Family Scout Ranch, with a focus on the 100th anniversary of appearance of Our Lady at Fatima. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts fulfilled the requirements to earn patches for the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary, and Marian Series patches for Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Sorrows. Scouts took part in games, prayed the rosary, were served a hamburger and hotdog lunch provided by the Knights of Columbus, and concluded the day with a vigil Mass celebrated by Father Jonathan Felux, archdiocesan director of Vocations and Seminarians, and assisted by Deacon Bill Thornberry from the Catholic Committee on Scouting.
