Passionist Congregation celebrates 300 years with exposition of sacred relics at San Fernando Cathedral

The Passionist Congregation of St. Paul of the Cross celebrated 300 years of existence with the exhibition of a jubilee icon triptych including relics of St. Paul of the Cross and other Passionist saints on February 4 at San Fernando Cathedral. A Mass in celebration of the congregation’s 300 years of service as part of the Catholic Church was also held that day, with the division of the Passionist Partner Lay Apostles, a group established in the 1980s, in attendance at the liturgy.

The Passionists are a Roman Catholic religious order of vowed priests, brothers, sisters, and nuns operating with the support and approval of the Vatican and the Holy Father. Its mission is the communication of the saving message of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Passionists are scholars, preachers, spiritual directors, retreat masters, teachers, chaplains, authors, musicians, artists, researchers, gardeners, poets and ministers to the suffering.
