MACC celebrates 45th anniversary fiesta

$15,000 donation check presented to Catholic Charities for Hurricane Harvey relief

SAN ANTONIO • The Mexican American Catholic College (MACC) celebrated its 45th anniversary with a special fiesta on Oct. 19. Since 1972, MACC’s service to the church and Hispanic community has continued to grow in Texas and throughout the United States.

During the planning of the fiesta, MACC embarked on a funding appeal and asked donors, board, faculty, staff, and students to help raise funds to donate to Catholic Charities of San Antonio to help fellow Texans who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. That effort garnered $15,000.

Remarks at the event were given by Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, and the donation check was presented by Dr. Arturo Chávez, president and CEO of MACC, to Antonio Fernández, president and CEO of Catholic Charities of San Antonio.
