The archdiocese has been receiving inquiries concerning a Families Belong Together rally which will be occurring in San Antonio this Saturday, June 30, at 10 a.m. Similar events will be taking place in cities across the United States. The website promoting this event lists the site of the gathering as San Fernando Cathedral, which is incorrect. The archdiocese is not associated with or partnering with this rally. The actual location of the event will be Main Plaza, the large public space in front of the cathedral which is operated by the Main Plaza Conservancy. At times, organizations and groups which have held events in Main Plaza have listed San Fernando Cathedral as the site of their gatherings, which is inaccurate. Main Plaza is a public space and is not the property of the cathedral.
On Sunday, July 1, at 10 a.m., Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, will be celebrating a liturgy in San Fernando Cathedral recalling César Chávez and his efforts on behalf of migrant farmworkers. During the Mass he will pray in a special way for those parents and children impacted by current immigration policies. Archbishop Gustavo will call on those attending to sign postcards to send to their Senators and representatives in Congress.

El domingo, 1 de julio, a las 10 am, el Arzobispo Gustavo García Siller, MSpS, celebrará una misa en la Catedral de San Fernando recordando a César Chávez y sus esfuerzos en nombre de los trabajadores agrícolas migrantes. Durante la misa rezará de manera especial para aquellos padres y niños afectados por las actuales políticas de inmigración. El Arzobispo Gustavo pedirá a los asistentes que firmen tarjetas postales para que las envíen a sus senadores y representantes en el Congreso.
