Homilía de Arzobispo Gustavo a 1 de Julio Misa Conmemorativa de César Chávez

July 16 @ 5:16 pm CDT

San Fernando Cathedral will host the annual Serenata a la Virgen de Guadalupe.   The Serenata is a special celebration honoring the Virgin Mary on the eve of the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The focal point of the Cathedral’s celebration will be traditional and contemporary music and dance performed by local artists. The Serenata is an imaginative hour-long celebration that brings together performers as varied as Mariachis, Norteño music and Mexican indigenous dances.  Twenty-four years ago, the Serenata began at San Fernando Cathedral as a way to begin Fiestas Guadalupanas in San Antonio following the model in Mexico at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The public is cordially invited to attend and there is no charge for admission into the Cathedral. For those who were unable to be seated in the Cathedral, a Jumbotron will be located in front of the Cathedral so the faithful can see the Serenata.
