SAN ANTONIO — To shine a light on the importance of children’s hospitals and how donations help kids get the best care when they need it, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio participated in the third annual #ChildrensHospitalsWeek March 18-24. The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is one of 170 member Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) across North America participating in the week-long initiative.
The week featured a Teddy Bear Clinic and Video Game Day, along with Build Your Own Hospital. In this therapeutic activity hosted by Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, children and families came together creatively to construct a model of their ideal hospital. They used everyday items (boxes, magazine pictures, glue, medical and art supplies) to create details of what they would include in their very own hospital. This activity helped patients focus on the positives of being in the hospital and highlighted what is important to them in order to cope with their hospital stay.
