Assembly 2017 is an all-day event which will consist of morning prayer and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by keynote speakers Boston Auxiliary Bishop Robert Reed, Mass celebrated by Archbishop Gustavo, a series of relevant conference sessions on the topics of life and love, faith and holiness, missionary discipleship, and Catholic worldview. Participants will have the opportunity to spend time with Jesus in Adoration and more than 20 priests will be available for the sacrament of reconciliation. The event will close with an evening prayer (vespers) and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament, led by the archbishop. The theme for the Assembly is “Sent by the Spirit.” Several young adult “FED” talks will also be offered.

Assembly 2017 is the fruit of the energy and momentum that has been cultivated for several years which began with the Pastoral Visioning process. At Pentecost 2013, the archdiocesan pastoral vision: Encountering Christ, United as Church, Sent by the Spirit was proclaimed at Main Plaza. The following Pentecost all parishes and missions participated in the archdiocesan Consecration to the Holy Spirit. This pastoral renewal is the inspiration for Assembly 2017.
